               HARI NIWAS (HARI PALACE)

The third most beautiful place in our Jammu is HARI NIWAS. It is also known as AMAR MAHAL PALACE. It is a palace in Jammu and its brightness wins the heart of many people. If we visit in HARI NIWAS, on one side we can see the TAWI RIVER clearly and on the other side TRIKUTA HILLS. Its distance is about 5.8 km from the Jammu flyover. The time taken by us to reach the HARI NIWAS is 14 minutes. The palace was built in red sandstone with red bricks. The palace was designed and constructed by french architech and french engineer.

The HARI NIWAS was built by MAHARAJA HARI SINGH. He was the last ruling king of JAMMU AND KASHMIR (1895-1961) in the early 20th century. His wife name was TARA DEVI and son whose name is KARAN SINGH. KARAN SINGH is an politician (congress leader) and he is an last yuvraj of J&K. He belongs to dogra jamwal family. When he was teenager, he worked closely with the JAWAHAR LAL NEHRU  and SARDAR PATEL during the foundation of REPUBLIC OF INDIA. The palace was donated to the HARI TARA CHARITABLE TRUST by Dr. Karan Singh for the use as a museum.
